Portia is my new little girl.  She showcases correct breed type – with exceptional true feminine features including a lovely oval eye shape and very dark pigment, correct head shape and ear placement, profuse pure white coat and correct bone for a bitch.  She has effortless sound movement, beautiful conformation that is superbly portioned with everything in moderation as the breed standard calls for. 

In the show ring she has excelled and made me very proud wining many “In Show and In Group Awards”, achieving her title easily against adult competition.  She became an Australian Champion at 8.5 months of age and was awarded Best Exhibit in Group at 9mths of age and she won Back to Back Minor Puppy in Show Awards at Clifton and Redcliffe Shows Qualifying her for Puppy of the Year.  She was the Number One Rising Star Japanese Spitz in Australia, in 2014.  She has 2 x Minor in Shows, 5 x Minor in Groups, 2 x Puppy in Groups, 8 x Junior in Groups & 6 Australian Bred in Groups.  She consistently wins the Bitch Challenge (even from when she was in the Puppy/Junior Class).  These wins have been under Local, Interstate and International judges.

Portia is from my “New Beginnings Litter” and sister to our Azlan.  She is devoted to my husband David and is a very cheeky girl, always up to mischief with her brother in toe. She loves playing ball and helping out with the gardening by carrying palm fronds.

She is the New Beginning of my (Shanspitz Kennels) breeding program to consistently breed Quality Japanese Spitz into the future.
